When you hear "and" it tells you to keep listening. "And" implies there's more to come. That's how I feel our callings and purpose under God works. God is always wanting to use us. He wants us to not only go out, but go out AND make disciples. To not only help the orphans, but orphans and widows. To not only be kind, but to be kind AND forgiving. This design is meant to be a reminder to keep listening for our "ands" from God and encouragement to act on them.
Keep in mind: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9
